ASU Health Sector Supply Chain Research Consortium Mark McKenna Healthcare Management Lecture

The Mark McKenna Healthcare Management Lecture series in 2019 will feature, Richard Carmona, MD, 17th Surgeon General of the United States draws upon his experience and expertise as the nation’s top doctor and his work as a university professor, nurse, police officer and a decorated Army Special Forces war veteran to diagnose what ails Americans and our healthcare system.


His lecture – Beyond Politics and Bad Behavior: How Evidence and Engagement Can Improve Health and Healthcare in America, will draw upon his past experiences.


Dr. Carmona prescribes a path forward that aligns stakeholders across the healthcare system and rewards behaviors that promote the health of individuals, communities and the economic vitality of the country. His presentation will focus first on preventable disease and economic burden and the use of evidence to improve health and care as well as motivate individuals to engage in healthier life styles.
